Tapal started as a family tea business in Karachi in 1947 and ended up defining what most of Punjab means by "chai" — its Danedar blend is the one to beat in every strong-tea household.
Pakistani chai is boiled with milk, not steeped in water. That method needs a leaf that releases fast and holds its strength against milk — exactly what a granular (danedar) cut does. Lighter leaf teas can taste washed out in doodh patti; Danedar does not.
