Ingredients
- 8 slices Milky bread — buy at AkBaat
- 3 Eggs — buy at AkBaat
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 3 tbsp Sugar — buy at AkBaat
- pinch Cardamom powder
- for the pan Butter or Blue Band — buy at AkBaat
- drizzle Honey, to serve — buy at AkBaat
Instructions
- Whisk eggs, milk, sugar and cardamom in a wide dish.
- Dip each slice 10 seconds a side — soaked through, not falling apart. Milky bread holds best.
- Medium tawa, butter melted; fry slices 2-3 minutes a side to deep gold.
- Serve hot, honey drizzled, doodh patti alongside.
Pakistan adopted French toast and made it meetha — cardamom in the egg, honey on top, chai on the side. Sunday's easiest ceremony.
Serving Suggestions
Honey or a shakar dusting; doodh patti mandatory. Savoury faction: skip sugar, add salt and chilli — the anda-bread continuum accommodates all.
Storage
None worth having — assembly-to-table is the dish. Batter refrigerates to tomorrow if sealed.
Cook's Notes
Milky bread is the structural choice; day-old slices soak better than fresh. Butter beats oil for the gold — this is a ceremony, not a diet.
